As part of the Green GB Week, different organisations were exhibiting low carbon initiatives proposing ways to tackle climate change, clean growth and explore how cities can built a more sustainable future. As part of the #GreenGBweek, Project SCENe organised a symposium to disseminate the importance of community energy projects in Nottingham and the UK. The event featured several award winning innovative housing/community projects from UK and EU that include novel local energy systems within sessions covering technical solutions, business models and community engagement. Partners from Project SCENe (Sustainable Community Energy Network), SENSIBLE Project (Storage-Enabled Sustainable Energy for Buildings and Communities) and REMOURBAN Project (REgeneration MOdel for accelerating the smart URBAN transformation) presented groundbreaking solutions to Energy Storage, Community Energy Schemes and Sustainable Developments. Chaired by Polly Billington of UK100, the ‘Energising Communities Symposium’ hosted key note talks from the Head of Local Energy at BEIS and the CEO of Community Energy England.
